Building a substantial sized web site w/a lot of interactivity. Do I need my own server?
The site has over 100 pages, over 1000 links, and a lot of interactivity. And, it will be getting even larger in a short time. Do I need to purchase my own server? I also have a virtual office with staff situated around the country that will link to a main computer for interoffice type applications. Do I need a separate server for that or not? Thanks.

- Large number of pages and links by itself does not justify getting dedicated server - it's the number of concurrent users and the complexity of your CMS and application code that counts. Virtual dedicated server may be good solution for you - they are not as expensive as dedicated (around $20-$30 per month), but offer much better performance than any shared hosting. There are virtually no reasons to run the web server off your own machine in your home or office - it's almost always more expensive in the long run in terms of troubles you'll get from that. Good luck
